Sandy Clark’s interest in people has always driven her career moves, and her current role as Property Manager for Harcourts Holmwood is all about building good relationships.

Starting her working life in the healthcare and hospitality sectors, she then spent a dozen years in real estate sales, helping people buy and sell houses.

Over a decade ago, she moved into property management, handling all aspects of matching the right home with the right people, and ensuring both tenants and owners are well looked after.

Although sales and property management are quite different, Sandy believes the skillset required for each role is largely the same: empathy, patience, solid problem-solving ability and great communication are key, along with a capacity for hard work and proven reliability of course.

Laying good foundations with both parties right from the start is vital. Tenants need to be crystal clear about expectations before they sign up, and landlords need to be kept informed about any maintenance issues as soon as they arise.
