Holmwood Celebrates 25 Years

For a quarter of a century the team at Harcourts Holmwood has been an integral part of the Christchurch community.

Harcourts Holmwood has cemented itself as one of Harcourts’ most successful franchise groups. The Fendalton office has been named Harcourts’ top Canterbury office several times over the years and many of the sales consultants across Holmwood’s five Christchurch offices are regularly featured among Harcourts’ top 100.

Holmwood CEO Tony Jenkins says he is extremely proud of the way the business has grown over 25 years to take its place among the best of the Christchurch real estate market.

“It’s a fantastic landmark for this business.”

Jenkins, who co-owns the business with Lynne MacDonald, says that success is down to many factors, such as a willingness to adopt and use new technologies, but crucially it’s down to the team of people who’ve worked hard to make the business a success.

“A lot of our sales consultants have been with Holmwood for their entire real estate career. That’s great for us, but it’s even better for our clients. It means those people have a huge level of local knowledge to share and they’ve seen some of our clients through several home sales and purchases through different stages of their lives.

“They really know their clients as well as the market,” he says.

Beyond the business of real estate Jenkins, who was inducted into Harcourts Hall of Fame in 2015, is also proud of the role Holmwood has always taken in the Christchurch community. The business has had a long-term relationship supporting Nurse Maude, and more recently is a major supporter of the Christchurch City Mission.

“That’s a huge part of who we are as a company. We really believe in giving back to the community which has helped us grow over the past 25 years,” he says.

Harcourts NZ CEO Chris Kennedy, who launched his own real estate career with Holmwood, says the franchise group sets the bar for the rest of the Harcourts team when it comes to outstanding performance and customer service.
